About the position

The Entry Level Forklift Operator at Louisiana-Pacific Corporation is responsible for operating mobile equipment in an OSB manufacturing facility. This role involves repetitive functions on the T&G line, ensuring the machine is supplied with necessary materials, maintaining cleanliness in the work area, and assisting with various operational tasks. The position emphasizes safety and efficiency in a dynamic plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment on the T&G line of an OSB manufacturing facility.
• Complete operational checklist for forklift.
• Keep the T&G machine supplied with product and packaging materials.
• Remove finished product from the outfeed area.
• Maintain cleanliness in the T&G area and organize units in the warehouse.
• Organize warehouse stacking lanes.
• Assist with cleaning the T&G paintbooth.
• Perform quality checks on T&G equipment.
• Organize downgrade crossouts and empty waste dumpster.
• Assist other forklift operators and strappers as directed by supervisor or lead man.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
• Work on re-grading product.
• Perform other duties as necessary, adhering to safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• 3 - 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of simple equipment operation.
• Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
• Time management skills.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
