About the position
The Entry Level Healthcare Insurance Admin position at TEKsystems involves supporting a high-volume clinic in Frederick, MD. This role is primarily focused on back-office administrative tasks, including data entry and obtaining authorizations for healthcare services. The position requires effective communication and documentation skills to manage patient information and resolve inquiries in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume administrative and data entry tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Obtain authorization from payer's case manager for services ordered/requested for prospects/referrals.
- Document specific details related to authorizations using the appropriate legacy system and software applications.
- Obtain additional pre-certification and eligibility verification as needed.
- Consult with the agency for all private insurance referrals and document/communicate via software application.
- Access authorizations via email, telephone, fax, and/or online application efficiently.
- Resolve customer requests, inquiries, and concerns in a respectful manner.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous administrative experience is required
- Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
