About the position

The Entry-Level HR Specialist at MAC DISCOUNT LLC is responsible for supporting the company with full cycle hiring and HR functions for a designated territory. This role involves recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations, with a focus on bilingual communication in English and Spanish. The HR Specialist will work closely with hiring managers and warehouse supervisors to meet staffing needs and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage job advertisements across various platforms to attract candidates.
  • Proactively source candidates through online channels, job fairs, and community outreach.
  • Conduct initial screenings of applicants to assess qualifications and fit for roles.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews, coordinating with hiring managers.
  • Manage all applicant communication from screening to onboarding, including high-volume calls.
  • Work closely with hiring managers and warehouse supervisors to understand staffing needs.
  • Track and report on key recruitment metrics, such as interview volume and time-to-fill.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Conduct orientation sessions for new employees to introduce them to company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records in the HRIS, ensuring all candidate and employee information is up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain employment and recruitment-related documentation.
  • Act as the first HR contact for employee performance and concerns.
  • Assist in overseeing workplace safety programs and reporting incidents.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a relevant field.
  • 2-3 years of prior experience in HR or related roles.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, including EEO and ADA.
  • Proficient typing skills and proper phone etiquette.
  • Ability to navigate a laptop and use software such as Google Calendar, Outlook, and ADP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HRIS management.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety programs.
  • Strong communication skills with General Managers.
