The HR Generalist is responsible for designing and administering human resources policies and procedures that cover two or more functional areas. This role involves collecting and analyzing HR data to make informed recommendations to management. The HR Generalist oversees and establishes procedures for paperwork completion within their functional area and prepares internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policies. This position is crucial in ensuring that the HR department runs smoothly and efficiently, providing support to both employees and management in various HR-related activities. In this role, the HR Generalist will provide support to employees and managers in handling all human resource-related activities, which may include employee relations, fielding employee questions or concerns, and communicating and interpreting policies and procedures. The HR Generalist will conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt positions, which includes writing and placing advertisements, screening and interviewing candidates, conducting reference checks, extending job offers, and conducting new-employee orientations. Additionally, the HR Generalist will monitor the career-path program and provide employee relations counseling, as well as conduct exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees. The HR Generalist is also responsible for ensuring that all employees are entered and processed correctly in the HR system and time-keeping system. This includes processing payroll while adhering to payroll policies and validating proper employee deductions. The HR Generalist will ensure that all changes are processed accurately, including benefit deductions, hires, and terminations. Routine administrative tasks are also part of the role, ensuring that HR processes are completed accurately and on time, in accordance with established HR business processes. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will manage physical personnel files, conducting routine audits to ensure completeness of employee files, and administer various employee benefit programs such as group insurance, flexible spending accounts, and 401(k) plans. Gathering and analyzing feedback from Business Partners and the people leadership team is essential in developing and implementing effective HR solutions while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
