About the position
The Entry Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at Jacobs will work on projects that are crucial to the core operations of clients' businesses. This role involves ensuring the technical quality and adherence to schedules for engineering tasks while gaining insights into client expectations and project scopes. The engineer will collaborate with a multi-discipline team to design control systems and provide on-site assistance during project startup, all while benefiting from mentorship opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks.
- Gain familiarity with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide on-site assistance during startup.
- Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
- Develop P&IDs and specify process instrumentation and valves.
- Design PLC-based systems and networking for control systems.
- Program PLCs and SCADA systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience or interest in I&C Systems Integration design.
- Experience in Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development.
- Experience in I/O list development.
- Experience in instrumentation selection.
- Experience in control panel layout and wiring.
- Experience in detailed loop wiring diagrams.
- Experience in PLC equipment list development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
