About the position

The Entry-Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer at Jacobs will be part of the Advanced Manufacturing Team, focusing on projects that are crucial to the core of clients' businesses. This role involves working on diverse manufacturing projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to schedules while gaining insights into client expectations and project scopes. The engineer will also provide on-site support during project startups and collaborate with team members to design control systems for various processes.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup phases of projects.
  • Coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
  • Develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Specify process instrumentation and valves.
  • Design DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) based systems.
  • Design networking for control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous relevant design internship experience.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers, AutoCAD and/or Revit.
