The Entry Level Lab Assistant position at Greystone Diagnostics is designed for individuals eager to gain experience in a laboratory environment. This role involves supporting the diagnostic laboratory with clerical and ancillary duties, ensuring that all equipment is prepared for patient output, and assisting in running diagnostic tests. The position is ideal for those with a background in laboratory sciences or medical technology, and restaurant kitchen experience is considered a plus due to the similarities in work processes.

Responsibilities

• Handles, prepares, and loads samples.
• Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and shuts down laboratory equipment, accessories, and instruments.
• Responsible for filing, tracking, retrieval, and accurate record keeping.
• Maintains diagnostic viability of all specimens and ensures correct patient labeling of all materials.
• Logs appropriate information into the Laboratory Information system.
• Participates in Research and Development Experiments.

Requirements

• Associate's degree (or higher) in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, OR at least 60 semester hours with 24 hours in science courses (biology, chemistry, or medical laboratory technology).
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Visual acuity (including color discrimination) to distinguish fine detail.
• Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment and perform sterile techniques as required.
• Must possess the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Must possess the ability to perform repetitive motion.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
• May be required to handle blood-borne pathogens and general laboratory chemicals.

Nice-to-haves

• Restaurant Kitchen experience (1 year preferred).
