About the position
The Camas Police Department is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as police officers. The mission of the department is to promote safety and quality services within the community of Camas, which has a population of approximately 26,000. The department offers various specialty assignments and financial incentives to attract qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Promote and preserve a feeling of security and safety in the community.
- Provide quality services to community members.
- Engage in specialty assignments such as Detectives, School Resource Officer, and Field Training Officer.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Completion of an extensive background check, drug screen, physical and psychological screening prior to final hire for Entry Level candidates.
- Certification of completion from an accredited state police academy for Lateral Level candidates.
- At least 1 year of experience as a police officer after graduation from an accredited state police academy for Lateral Level candidates.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in law enforcement or public safety roles.
- Familiarity with community policing strategies.
