Harrison Kristopher, LLP is seeking an entry-level Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation desk in a small personal injury firm. The role involves a variety of administrative and legal tasks, including managing calendars, filing court documents, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel. Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain calendar management, billing, and case management database.
  • Organize legal files and documents.
  • Perform court filing duties.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel to obtain information and prepare reports.
  • Draft routine documents, correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials.
  • Review, summarize, and analyze court documents, pleadings, discovery received, client documents, and medical records.
  • Prepare and draft responses in litigation matters and compile responses to document requests under supervision.
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-through on issues.
  • Assist with trial preparation.

Requirements

  • Some college education is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • 3+ years of office experience is required.
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency in establishing and maintaining client files.
  • High degree of personal integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent secretarial, clerical, writing, and editing skills, along with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and competence with personal computers, including multiple databases, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-direction with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
