About the position

As an Entry-Level Mechanic at UIC Oil & Gas Support, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, tire repairs, and basic electrical repairs. Responsibilities

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Perform basic services including checking and topping off fluids, inspecting belts and hoses, and completing safety inspections.
• Remove, install, and repair tires.
• Diagnose and repair tire issues, including punctures and flats.
• Assist with diagnosing and repairing basic electrical issues, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
• Replace faulty electrical components as needed.
• Support experienced mechanics with more complex repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Help with disassembling and reassembling vehicle components.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, and manage tools and equipment.
• Provide excellent notes and document all repairs completed using app-based technology.

Requirements

• Previous heavy duty repair, tire repair, shop experience or formal training is required.
• Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in the automotive field.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
• Comfortable working in various conditions, including adverse weather, under vehicles and in a workshop environment.
