About the position

The Entry Level Mechanical Engineer at Amentum will engage in various engineering assignments focused on the planning, development, design, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems. This role is designed for motivated individuals who will work closely with experienced engineers, contributing to design reviews and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, development or review tasks in specific areas under close supervision.
• Design a portion or section of an analysis or design review.
• Assist in generation of specifications and engineering data.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and correspondence.
• Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications.
• Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
• Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related scientific field, and at least 1 year of mechanical engineering experience.
• In lieu of degree, at least 9 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

Nice-to-haves

• Good communications and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge and capability with AutoCAD.
