About the position

Professional Analysis, Inc. (PAI) is seeking an Entry Level Naval Architect to support the design and development of LPD class ships for the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, DC. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in naval architecture while working alongside senior architects to ensure that ship designs meet the U.S. Navy's performance and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and review of ship designs, including hull form, stability, and structural integrity.
  • Support senior naval architects in conducting ship stability and performance assessments.
  • Participate in the preparation of design drawings, weight estimates, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure integration of systems within the ship's structure.
  • Support troubleshooting and problem resolution during ship design, construction, and post-delivery phases.
  • Assist in reviewing design modifications and engineering change requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture.
  • Specialized experience with applicable codes and standards (ABS, NVR, etc.).
  • Must have DoD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Naval Architecture.
  • Very detail-oriented and analytical.
