The Entry Level Payroll Specialist at Big Boy Restaurants plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of payroll processes for all team members. This position supports the executive leadership team by managing payroll operations and assisting the Benefits Specialist as needed. The role emphasizes a commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining the company's values and culture.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll
• Ensure all team members are paid accurately and timely
• Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, and accounting to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
• Assist with Month/Year End activities required to close all books
• Work closely with all Accounting Staff to perform the responsibilities of the Accounting department
• Collaborate with HR staff to ensure HRIS is accurate and all necessary payroll requirements are met
• Work with the Benefits Specialist to ensure all payrolls are accurate and correspond with taxing authorities as necessary
• Handle team member questions and concerns regarding payroll and work closely with supervisors to ensure all time is approved
• Be a role model and advocate of the Big Boy culture that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, and values of the organization

Requirements

• Experience in payroll processing or related field
• Familiarity with HRIS systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
• Excellent communication skills
