About the position

DigiStream Investigations, a rapidly expanding national private investigation firm, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our investigative team in the greater Chicago area. This position is not your typical desk job; as a Private Investigator, you will experience a career filled with excitement, travel, autonomy, and a strong sense of purpose. We are looking for someone with an adventurous spirit and a keen curiosity, who is driven to provide our clients with the evidence they need to support their cases. In this role, you will be provided with a company surveillance vehicle and a gas card, along with essential equipment such as a video camera, laptop, tripod, and maintenance card. You will gain invaluable experience conducting covert investigations, and each day will present new challenges and opportunities. The skills you acquire in this position can lead to various career paths in law enforcement, legal assistance, corporate investigations, and even investigative journalism. Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring, following, and videotaping subjects as they go about their daily activities. You will engage in both vehicle and foot pursuits while maintaining cover, and your activities may range from filming someone at a grocery store to capturing footage at a sports event. You will also be responsible for crafting pre-surveillance strategies based on the setup location and case details, as well as writing detailed reports on the activities observed and submitting video evidence. Regular communication with your team leader regarding setup positions, activity, and tactics will be essential to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, follow, and videotape subjects during their daily activities.

  • Write detailed reports on observed activities and submit video evidence.
  • Communicate regularly with team leader regarding setup positions, activity, and tactics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to start work as early as 5:00 am daily with occasional work into the evenings.
  • Must currently live in the greater Chicago area.
  • Ability to pass DMV check and background check.
  • Confident driving skills.
