About the position

As an Entry Level Programmer at Communication Federal Credit Union, you will analyze user needs for computerization, design new or modify existing systems, and write computer programs to implement these systems. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing demands while adapting to changes and delays. You will work with various programming techniques and standards to create and implement efficient operational procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing or proposed projects to determine feasibility for technical adaptation.
  • Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and document analysis performed.
  • Design systems detailing procedures for users and create departmental forms for data processing applications.
  • Prepare system and data flow diagrams and translate problem statements into programming definitions.
  • Create programs utilizing current departmental programming techniques and standards, code and debug programs, and coordinate testing and data conversion.
  • Implement new and revised systems by providing training to users and staff, and create efficient operational procedures.
  • Document all phases of analysis, design, programming, implementation, and maintenance of technical projects.
  • Create user documentation for online systems, reports, procedures, and training materials.

Requirements

  • Computer Science degree or related certification or equivalent work experience with extensive training.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer operations involving hardware, software, applications, and programming.
  • Ability to perform calculations and apply concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively managing one's own time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SQL, Crystal, DB2, XML, .NET Programming, VB and C+ (or combination of).
  • Experience working in a financial institution data center.
  • IBM DB2, active directory programming, web development.
