About the position

Year Up is a one-year or less, intensive job training program designed to equip young adults with essential skills for the workforce. The program focuses on in-classroom skill development, providing participants with access to internships and job placement services, as well as personalized coaching and mentorship. Participants in the Year Up program also receive an educational stipend, which supports their learning journey. The curriculum combines both technical and professional training, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the job market. Internships are a critical component of the Year Up experience, with opportunities available at leading organizations such as Bank of America, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, and Salesforce, among others in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This hands-on experience not only enhances the participants' resumes but also provides them with invaluable networking opportunities and real-world insights into their chosen fields. The program is structured to cater to young adults aged 18-29 who are motivated to learn and grow professionally. Participants will gain professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking skills, and resume building techniques. Additionally, ongoing support and guidance are provided to help participants successfully launch their careers. Some coursework may even be eligible for college credit, further enhancing the educational value of the program. During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week, which helps alleviate financial burdens while they focus on their professional development. With a strong track record, 80% of Year Up graduates find employment or enroll in postsecondary education within four months of graduation, with employed graduates earning an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
