About the position

Year Up is a one-year or less, intensive job training program designed to provide young adults with essential skills for the workforce. The program focuses on in-classroom skill development, access to internships, and job placement services, along with personalized coaching and mentorship. Participants in the Year Up program will receive an educational stipend, which supports their learning journey. The training encompasses both technical and professional skills, preparing participants for internships with leading companies such as Bank of America, New York Life Insurance Company, and JPMorgan Chase, among others in the Tampa Bay area. The program is structured to include in-depth classes that cover various topics, including Application Development & Support and Banking & Customer Success. Participants will gain valuable professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking skills, and resume building techniques. Ongoing support and guidance are provided to help participants successfully launch their careers. Notably, some coursework may be eligible for college credit, enhancing the educational value of the program. During the internship phase, Year Up students will earn an educational stipend of $525 per week, which aids in their financial stability while they gain practical experience. Year Up boasts impressive outcomes, with 80% of graduates either employed or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation. Graduates who secure employment can expect an average starting salary of $53,000 per year, reflecting the program's effectiveness in preparing participants for the job market.

Requirements

  • Must be 18-29 years old
  • High school graduate or GED recipient
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Available Monday-Friday throughout the duration of the program
  • Highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills
  • Must not have obtained a Bachelor's degree
