About the position
The Entry-Level Roadway Engineer position at GBA involves working within a multi-disciplined team to design roadway engineering projects. The role focuses on various aspects of municipal and highway design, including geometric design, safety evaluations, and construction planning, primarily serving clients in Kansas, Missouri, and Texas.
Responsibilities
- Geometric Design and 3-D Modeling, including intersection and interchange design
- Evaluation and design of multi-modal facilities and corridors from planning to final design
- Roadside Safety Evaluation and Design
- Basic Hydrology & Hydraulic design, including cross-road structures and enclosed storm sewers
- Development of Construction Sequencing, Traffic Control Plans, Erosion Control Plans for Construction
- Quantity development and tabulation, Cost Estimation, Standard Specification review and development, Quality Control/Quality Assurance Reviews
- Field Visits
- Utility Coordination
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- 0-2 years of experience
- Experience in using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Possess effective communication skills both written and oral
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using Synchro / SimTraffic, VISSIM, RSAP, HSM, AutoTurn, HY-8, HEC-RAS, Revu or Adobe
