About the position

TOP RATED Co. is actively seeking a Sales Engineer who will serve as the main point of contact for our highly regarded company. In this role, you will be entrusted with managing an engineering customer base while also working to expand our new customer base within a designated territory. Your primary responsibilities will involve interacting with current and potential customers, including engineers, designers, and other professional and technical personnel across various commercial and industrial establishments. You will work to convince prospective clients of the desirability and practicality of the products and services we offer. To support distribution sales growth, you will engage in training, provide support, conduct joint calls, and participate in joint marketing efforts while setting achievable goals. A critical aspect of your role will be reviewing customer drawings, plans, and other documents to develop accurate cost estimates and ensure the delivery of properly engineered products. You will also provide technical support to clients regarding the operation of motors, drives, and related products, preparing and presenting customer quotations, training sessions, seminars, call reports, and special reports as directed. Additionally, you will collaborate with Accounts Receivables to collect delinquent payments and prepare and submit sales reports. Sharing market information with other departments throughout the organization will be essential, as will participating in the Sales Engineer Certification Program to enhance your technical knowledge of our products. Your main job responsibilities will include pre-sale consulting and support, motor sizing, product recommendations, and cross-referencing other manufacturers' products. You will also provide technical assistance to our sales and field engineers by conducting technical seminars, product training sessions, setting up demo units for on-site demonstrations and trade shows, and preparing technical articles for our monthly newsletter. After-sale support will involve system setup, programming and testing of stepper and servo motor driver/controllers, interfacing products with custom software, troubleshooting products, and optimizing system performance. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sales Engineer or similar role in a technical field.
  • Strong understanding of motors, drives, and related products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Experience in reviewing technical documents and preparing cost estimates.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Familiarity with sales processes and customer relationship management.

Nice-to-haves
