About the position

Year Up is a one-year or less, intensive job training program designed to provide young adults with essential skills for the workforce. This program focuses on in-classroom skill development, access to internships, and job placement services, along with personalized coaching and mentorship. Participants in the Year Up program not only gain technical skills but also professional skills that are crucial for success in the workplace. The program is structured to combine both technical and professional training, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for their future careers. As part of the program, participants may have the opportunity to intern at leading organizations such as Salesforce, Workday, or PayPal, among others in the California Bay Area. This exposure to real-world work environments is invaluable, providing participants with hands-on experience that enhances their employability. The program is designed for individuals aged 18-29 who are motivated to learn and grow professionally. Throughout the program, participants will develop professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking skills, and resume building techniques. They will receive ongoing support and guidance to help them launch their careers successfully. Additionally, some coursework may be eligible for college credit, further enhancing the educational value of the program. During the internship phase, participants will earn an educational stipend of $525 per week, which helps to support them financially while they gain practical experience in their chosen fields. With a strong track record of success, 80% of Year Up graduates find employment or enroll in postsecondary education within four months of graduation. Employed graduates report an average starting salary of $53,000 per year, demonstrating the effectiveness of the program in launching successful careers.

Requirements

  • Must be between 18-29 years old.
  • High school graduate or GED recipient.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Available Monday-Friday throughout the duration of the program.
  • Highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills.
  • Must not have obtained a Bachelor's degree.
