Year Up is a one-year or less, intensive job training program designed to provide young adults with essential skills for the workforce. The program focuses on in-classroom skill development, access to internships, job placement services, and personalized coaching and mentorship. Participants in the Year Up program receive an educational stipend, which supports their learning and development throughout the program. The curriculum combines both technical and professional training, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for the demands of the job market. Internships are a critical component of the Year Up program, with opportunities available at leading organizations such as Bank of America, Capital One, JPMorgan Chase, and Salesforce, among others in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This hands-on experience allows participants to apply their skills in real-world settings, enhancing their employability upon completion of the program. To be eligible for the Year Up program, applicants must be between 18-29 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, be eligible to work in the U.S., and be available Monday through Friday throughout the program's duration. Candidates should be highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills and must not have obtained a Bachelor's degree. Participants will gain valuable professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking skills, and resume building techniques. Ongoing support and guidance are provided to help launch their careers. Some coursework may also be eligible for college credit. During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week, which further supports their transition into the workforce. With an impressive 80% of graduates employed or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation, Year Up is committed to helping young adults achieve their career goals.
