About the position

Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Newburgh, NY Office. This position offers the exciting opportunity for professional growth and advancement and to work closely with a diverse group of Professional Engineers. The essential functions of this position include working collaboratively on various telecommunications projects with engineers, construction teams, and designers to assist in the process of providing high quality deliverables to our clients. The Staff Engineer will work on the design, inspection, and coordination of all phases of civil/site development, including new site builds, site layouts, and site modifications and upgrades on telecommunications and industrial facilities projects. Additionally, the role involves performing structural analyses on wireless telecommunications sites. The Staff Engineer will also be responsible for generating required engineering reports for review, performing site visits to gather data and perform site inspections, reviewing drawings and calculations, as well as all other duties as required. This position may require occasional overnight travel to job sites, including those in the NYC metro area, to ensure effective project execution and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on various telecommunications projects with engineers, construction teams, and designers.
  • Assist in providing high-quality deliverables to clients.
  • Work on the design, inspection, and coordination of civil/site development phases.
  • Perform structural analyses on wireless telecommunications sites.
  • Generate required engineering reports for review.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and perform inspections.
  • Review drawings and calculations as needed.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 0 - 2 years of related experience;
  • Detail-oriented with a functional knowledge of AutoCAD 2020 and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Valid, clean driver's license required for travel to job sites.

Nice-to-haves

  • MS Degree in a related field and/or EIT is a plus.
