About the position

This position is SEASONAL and runs from December through April (approximately 18 weeks). It is designed for individuals who may not have prior experience in tax preparation, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to enter the workforce or transition into a new career. The role of a Seasonal Entry Level Tax Preparer is critical to our success at Jackson Hewitt, as it involves assisting clients with one of the most significant financial events of their year—their tax return. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service and top-notch tax knowledge, ensuring that our clients feel supported and informed throughout the tax preparation process. As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for guiding clients through the complexities of tax codes, rules, and processes. This includes preparing and completing accurate tax-related forms, which may encompass multiyear, multistate, and year-end tax forms. Our mission is to ease the stress of tax season for our clients, and we are looking for passionate individuals who share this commitment. We offer flexible schedules, including day, night, and weekend shifts, with both full-time and part-time positions available. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to return year after year, provided they demonstrate a good attitude and perform well in their role. Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to clients on tax-related matters.
  • Explain tax codes, rules, and processes to clients.
  • Prepare and complete accurate tax-related forms for clients.
  • Assist clients with multiyear, multistate, and year-end tax forms.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the tax preparation process.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of computer functions and math.
  • Willingness to obtain PTIN Certification.
