About the position

The Technical Writer position at Greystones Group involves supporting a modernization program with the Navy by creating and maintaining clear and accurate technical documentation. This role requires collaboration with subject matter experts to distill complex Navy technologies into accessible documents, ensuring adherence to security and classification protocols while contributing to the overall goal of developing a proficient and responsive workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand Navy technologies and methodologies.
  • Produce and maintain various technical documents, including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
  • Review technical documentation from external vendors for consistency and accuracy.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve documentation quality and usability.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with security, classification, and public release protocols.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field and 1+ year of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficient in documenting technical concepts for diverse stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to translate technical terminology into clear documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research, document, and present detailed information such as guides, manuals, and articles.
