About the position

The Support Technician (Robotics) is primarily a mechanical or electrical engineer technician who is well-versed in robotic work cells and has experience in a manufacturing or fulfillment center environment. This role requires practical, hands-on skills to support the team effectively. The technician will address hardware and software issues related to robotic and automated equipment. Typically, this position is utilized once the workcell safety system has reached a stage where less engineering expertise is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates the daily operation of the Alpha/Beta level work cells
• Provides onsite software, controls, and hardware support and coordination for product tests
• Supports the setup and configuration of software and hardware systems
• Collaborates with and supports remote hardware and software development teams, providing local coordination of activities as needed
• Assists with the identification of hardware issues and software bugs; performs and/or supports root cause analysis, and installation of corrective actions
• Performs planned daily, weekly, and monthly hardware preventative maintenance activities
• Completes unplanned maintenance/repairs as needed following prescribed instructions
• Installs hardware changes
• Provides documentation and updates as directed, including collecting data, data analysis, and creating reports
• Coordinates, collaborates, and develops relationships with onsite parties to meet priorities and deadlines

Requirements

• Associates and/or bachelor's degree in engineering technology, Mechatronics, or other relevant field required
• Previous experience through internships, co-ops, and/or clubs
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Prior success in fast-paced environments demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills
