About the position

As an Entry Level Highway CAD Designer at Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in supporting engineers on structural and highway design plans for various transportation and civil projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects, from small recreational trails to large-scale programs, while collaborating with talented project teams throughout all phases of plan production.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers in the geometric design of roadways, including horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Design superelevation, grading, drainage, signing, striping, and erosion control.
• Assist in the maintenance of traffic during construction and perform quantity take-offs.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline project teams on design plans using CAD software.
• Prepare sketches and review shop drawings during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• Ability to produce accurate, neat, and effective drawings.
• Familiarity with CAD standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Technical degree in computer-aided design (CAD).
• Experience as a highway CAD technician.
• Experience with Geopack, Inroads, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, Civil 3D.
• Experience working in a team environment with good communication skills.
