About the position

As a Service Technician at The Computer Guy, LLC, you will serve as the first point of contact for client technical issues, addressing a variety of tasks from troubleshooting connectivity problems to resolving software issues. This role is designed for both Entry and Mid-Level engineers, with responsibilities that include diagnosing and resolving issues remotely and on-site, documenting interactions, and collaborating with colleagues on complex problems. The position offers opportunities for professional development and requires a strong commitment to customer service and technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for client technical issues.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity and software issues remotely and on-site.
• Document all client interactions and troubleshooting steps in the system.
• Collaborate with colleagues on complex technical issues.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, and Microsoft 365 cloud environment.
• Handle various technical challenges including backup failures, printer malfunctions, and network connectivity issues.
• Assist advanced tier engineers with projects such as firewall deployments and server migrations.
• Engage with clients to confirm issue resolution and provide follow-up support.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience for Entry Level or 3 years for Mid-Level in IT support.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in networking and systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High-level customer service skills.
• Ability to type 50+ WPM for efficient documentation.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds when necessary.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with PowerShell scripts or other coding for automation.
• Experience working as part of a Service Desk team.
• Prior experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) setting.
