About the position
The Design Video Creator role at Envato Tuts+ is focused on inspiring and educating designers through engaging video content. This position involves creating in-house videos tailored for a designer audience, collaborating with the editorial team to research, plan, and script videos that are both educational and entertaining. The role requires a blend of video production skills, including filming, editing, and presenting, along with a strong understanding of graphic design and digital tools.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Video Manager and editorial team to plan and create videos that fit the YouTube strategy, including short video tutorials, inspirational videos, and educational video courses.
- Create in-depth design courses for beginners to advanced users in tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma.
- Collaborate with the social media team to create short-form videos that translate trends into actionable content for designers.
- Research, plan, and script new videos with the audience in mind.
- Present on camera with energy and enthusiasm.
- Edit videos with confidence and skill.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED).
- Excellent communication skills for clear and effective on-camera presentation.
- Deep understanding of design, preferably with formal design education and a varied portfolio.
- Excellent knowledge of digital design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Figma.
- Good video production skills, including producing high-quality on-camera videos, audio recordings, and screencasts.
- Experience creating videos for YouTube and being on camera.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work to varied deadlines and respond flexibly to business needs.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- High level of initiative, independence, and self-management.
