About the position

Echtra Games is seeking a talented Concept Artist specializing in environment art to join their team for an exciting new cross-platform Action Role Playing Game. The role involves collaborating with a dedicated team to create immersive worlds that exceed player expectations, while also supporting the Art Director in visualizing and refining the game's setting.

Responsibilities

• Visualizing and assisting the Art Director with world building, establishing the game setting, and refining the details
• Collaborate with the Art Director and Environment Artists to maintain the vision and style of the game
• Define the look and feel of a game through your concept art

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience creating high quality environment concept art for video games
• An outstanding portfolio which demonstrates your command of foundational art skills (drawing, painting, material indication, perspective, lighting, composition, color theory, shape language, and interior/exterior design)
• Solid understanding and execution of hard surface design (buildings, vehicles, machines)
• Advanced technical expertise in Photoshop
• Ability to take direction and feedback from the team as well as contribute your own ideas
• Demonstrate imaginative and innovative solutions to game situations
• Possess a creative passion for taking the player outside of their world

Nice-to-haves

• 3D package experience (Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Zbrush, SketchUp)
• Experience with licensed IP projects
• Foundational understanding of the ARPG genre
• Familiarity with looter shooters
