About the position

The Environmental Administrative Coordinator at the Port of Corpus Christi is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support to the Director of Environmental Planning & Compliance and other environmental staff. This role involves managing communications, tracking regulatory authorizations, processing purchase orders, and maintaining environmental records. The coordinator will also assist in meeting preparations, data entry, and coordination of environmental projects, ensuring compliance and efficient operations within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general secretarial services and administrative support to the Director of Environmental Planning & Compliance and other environmental staff.
  • Assists the Director in overall administrative functions, including streamlining processes and preparing for Commission Meetings.
  • Tracks regulatory authorizations for the Port area and disseminates information to the Environmental team.
  • Processes and codes department requests for purchase orders and invoices.
  • Coordinates report submissions and opens/distributes mail for environmental staff.
  • Arranges meetings and conferences, taking and transcribing minutes as directed.
  • Makes travel reservations for environmental staff and provides clerical support for reports and documents.
  • Establishes and maintains necessary environmental files for compliance and recordkeeping.
  • Performs data entry of environmental records and maintains various tracking data for projects.
  • Coordinates with procurement for solicitation of environmental projects and supplies.
  • Supports other administrative personnel as needed and adheres to Port policy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years related secretarial experience or acceptable equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years formal education from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with environmental and construction projects preferred.
