About the position

The Environmental Analyst 2 position at the State of Connecticut's Department of Public Health involves developing and managing an Alternative Treatment Systems (ATS) program aimed at improving wastewater management and environmental health. This role supports the state's housing development goals and addresses unique challenges in underserved areas, working closely with the Environmental Engineering Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop licensure requirements for ATS system installers and operators in conjunction with the Environmental Practitioner Licensure Program.
• Manage a data tracking system for ATS system compliance.
• Coordinate with the Environmental Practitioner Licensure Program for training and certification of local health officials.
• Oversee enforcement matters related to ATS systems.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a scientific or technical discipline related to the environmental field.
• 1 year of experience in environmental analysis or related field.
• Knowledge of environmental law and statistics.
• Experience with databases and statistical analysis.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Experience conducting trainings to diverse groups.
