About the position

The Environmental Analyst at NEIWPCC is a full-time role focused on data management, analysis, and system development to support compliance with environmental reporting requirements. The position involves collaborating with a water-focused team to enhance data integrity and governance while contributing to the preservation and advancement of water quality.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, compile, clean, validate, organize, and analyze environmental data using various tools.
  • Create reports and presentations detailing findings from data analysis.
  • Develop routine queries, data models, and processes to improve data manipulation and reporting accuracy.
  • Collaborate with staff to enhance program implementation through effective data management processes.
  • Assist in developing data governance guidelines and procedures and provide training.

Requirements

  • A degree in data science, computer science, statistics, information systems, natural resources, environmental science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Three years of related technical or professional experience.
  • Strong analytical background with a commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in R programming, Python, or SQL, with experience in creating ETL pipelines and database management.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with clear oral communication and public speaking comfort.
  • Knowledge of environmental contaminants and their behavior in the environment.
