As an Environmental and Land Use Planner at Tucson Electric Power, you will play a crucial role in securing the necessary environmental permits and land use authorizations required for the construction and maintenance of distribution, transmission, and generation assets. This position is integral to ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while supporting the company's commitment to building a cleaner, greener grid. You will manage consultants and direct their efforts to secure these permits, providing technical guidance and planning input throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, you will identify jurisdictional and regulatory requirements and work closely with various stakeholders, including internal departments, regulators, and other key entities. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining business relationships, providing permitting assistance, and offering planning input for right-of-way project research. You will also be involved in reviewing and managing requests for proposals, project scopes, and budgets, while collaborating with GIS staff to maintain geospatial data layers relevant to land resources. The position requires a strong focus on project management, where you will develop operational and capital budget forecasts, track expenditures, and monitor project progress to ensure proper coordination across all phases. You will lead meetings concerning assigned projects and work across departments to identify project needs and requirements, ensuring that all services provided align with the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
