About the position

The Environmental Assistant Project Manager at YU & Associates Inc. is a mid-level role focused on supporting the environmental/hazardous materials team. The position involves conducting both office and field work to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, managing project schedules, communicating with clients, and assisting in the development of project documentation under the supervision of a Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and sampling of hazardous substances in compliance with sampling protocols.
• Monitor projects during asbestos abatement.
• Develop and review abatement and remediation plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
• Evaluate laboratory results and assess the extent of hazardous material locations.
• Assist the Project Manager in developing survey reports, abatement plans, and construction documents for abatement.
• Interact with responsible parties and their representatives.
• Work effectively under deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and NYC regulations on abatement and handling of hazardous materials.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus.
