About The Position

The Environmental Engineer 2 position is a permanent, full-time role located in East Wenatchee, WA, focusing on providing professional engineering services for the Eastern Region Capital Programs. The role involves a mix of office work and field visits, requiring collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team to address various environmental engineering issues related to water, sewer, grading, drainage, roads, and park camps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sanitary, civil, geotechnical, water resource, environmental engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of civil/environmental engineering experience.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • Engineer-In-Training Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled in using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, and engineering software.
  • Experience with scientific calculators, copiers/plotters, and survey instruments.
  • Ability to operate vehicles such as vans, trucks, and SUVs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering reports/studies, contract drawings, technical specifications, and contract cost estimates for capital development projects.
  • Design buildings, retaining walls, and miscellaneous park structures.
  • Analyze/design surface water drainage and treatment features according to storm water regulations.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of watersheds and size drainage features.
  • Analyze and design on-site sewage systems, sewer systems, and pumping stations.
  • Design potable water systems, wells, treatment facilities, and reservoirs.
  • Design roadways, parking lots, and trails.
  • Act as Field Engineer/Project Manager performing construction site inspections and making recommendations.
  • Negotiate change orders and prepare contract payments and closeout documentation.
  • Conduct field investigations as required.
