About the position

The position involves working as a Civil, Chemical, or Environmental Engineer at Jacobs, focusing on environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients. The role emphasizes safety, operational excellence, and collaboration with a team of experts to deliver innovative solutions to environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support remediation system operations and maintenance.
• Oversee or support field data collection.
• Build teams of colleagues and subcontractors.
• Coordinate and manage fieldwork logistics.
• Conduct data analysis and interpretation.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Write technical reports.
• Participate in meetings with clients and regulators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering; other engineering fields will also be considered.
• Six to ten years of professional experience with delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects.
• Experience working on project sites and overseeing subcontractors.
• Experience leading teams toward a common goal.
• 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.
• Ability to travel approximately 10-15% for fieldwork and oversight.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering.
• Professional Engineer license (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training Certification with the desire to achieve a P.E.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, and clients.
• Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data.
