About the position

The Environmental Co-op/Intern position at Honda for Summer 2025 offers college students a hands-on, project-based experience in various departments related to Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, and Industrial Hygiene. Interns will engage in meaningful projects that contribute to the company's operations, while also participating in professional development events and networking opportunities. This role is designed for students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting and make a significant impact within a global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project management and problem analysis in environmental and safety contexts.
  • Investigate new technologies and implement countermeasures for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Review existing equipment and assist the EH&S coordinator with specifications for new equipment.
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations and document findings in the current tracking system.
  • Evaluate proposed new model processes to minimize ergonomic risks.
  • Assist with air compliance testing and ISO document evaluation.
  • Prepare Hazardous Chemical Inventory reports for Ohio EPA and track chemical use and waste generation.
  • Support special projects such as new model launches or process modifications.
  • Plan and communicate Industrial Hygiene samples to support production operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2.5 Cumulative GPA or higher.
  • Class status: Sophomore (by credit hour) or above.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 10 weeks at 40 hours per week.
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program studying Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to secure own transportation.
