About the position

The Environmental Compliance Specialist at Estuate Software Pvt. Ltd. plays a crucial role in ensuring that environmental requirements are integrated into project planning and execution. This position involves providing specialized environmental input to various teams, drafting compliance plans, conducting inspections, and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies and project stakeholders. The specialist will also be responsible for monitoring compliance with environmental regulations and addressing any non-conformances in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provides specialized environmental input to Engineering, Construction, and Subcontracts to ensure environmental requirements are integrated into project planning and design.
  • Participates in meetings with customers and project teams to advise on environmental requirements affecting project design and construction.
  • Drafts Environmental Compliance Plans, Construction Environmental Control Plans (CECP), and project-specific mitigation plans.
  • Conducts environmental compliance inspections of project construction activities to monitor adherence to environmental requirements.
  • Follows up on environmental non-conformances to ensure timely corrections and maintenance of appropriate controls.
  • Leads and supports investigations on near misses and incidents as required.
  • Maintains relationships with internal Bechtel organizations and external stakeholders to coordinate technical issues and implementation of environmental functions.
  • Keeps in contact with government regulatory agencies to stay updated on new regulations and standards.
  • Maintains contact with professional colleagues to stay informed about advancements in environmental science and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a specialized scientific field or environmental/civil engineering.
  • 3 years of experience in EHS management and environmental compliance inspection during construction.
  • Knowledge of environmental management, monitoring, and mitigation systems related to heavy civil and large industrial construction projects.
  • Specialized knowledge in fields such as meteorology, ecology, biology, or engineering.
  • Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations, and resource agencies' permitting processes.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication and proficient in computer applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Safety Professional certification.
