About the position

AECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer or Geologist to serve as the Environmental Deputy Office Lead (Remediation) in Kenova, West Virginia. This role involves managing and leading environmental projects, particularly in remediation and oil/gas sectors, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a prestigious engineering firm, focusing on impactful environmental solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage remediation, environmental assessment, and oil & gas projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Apply technical knowledge to address environmental challenges in remediation, groundwater contamination, soil treatment, waste management, and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure project compliance.
  • Manage and lead a team of professionals, providing mentorship and career development support.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and assisting with proposal development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid driver's license and a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and other assessments.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of relevant technical and project management experience related to environmental remediation, oil and gas projects, or refinery operations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental remediation techniques and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams and budgets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
