About the position
The Environmental Engineer will coordinate Safety and Environmental programs for a global chemical plant, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies while promoting a safe working environment. This role is crucial in supporting the organization to meet Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and programs.
- Oversee program management, including auditing, monitoring, reporting, and record keeping.
- Provide technical guidance and support on SHE issues across the organization.
- Coordinate and assist in training employees and contractors on SHE-related topics.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and investigations, and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
- BS in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Safety/Environmental compliance in the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of SHE regulations and best practices, including federal and state air, water, and waste regulations, RCRA, OSHA/PSM, NFPA, TSCA.
- Proven experience in SHE compliance within the manufacturing sector.
- Familiarity with current regulatory requirements and chemical industry standards.
- Ability to work now or in the future without sponsorship.
