About the position

The Environmental Engineer or Scientist position at Geosyntec involves working on contaminated site assessment and remediation projects. This role is designed for individuals looking to apply their engineering or scientific skills to impactful environmental projects while developing essential business skills for a successful consulting career. The position is based in Pensacola, FL, and offers opportunities for professional growth within a leading international engineering and consulting firm.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting projects involving due diligence with substantial historic research including ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Providing environmental compliance services, such as compliance audits and reviews (multi-media).
  • Developing compliance documents and permit applications associated with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
  • Providing litigation support services, including related to hazardous waste and material management.
  • Taking on task-level or project management responsibilities based on experience, along with business development and staff mentoring tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering.
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G.).
  • 7+ years of experience in an environmental consulting environment.
  • An outstanding track record for client management and technical leadership.
  • Project experience involving environmental regulatory compliance, historical research, and environmental assessment.
  • Detailed Federal and California regulatory knowledge, especially RCRA and EPCRA.
