About the position

The position involves providing air permitting and compliance support to industrial clients, focusing on regulatory applicability, compliance plans, and air permitting applications. The role includes project management, client interaction, and team coordination, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality services and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Determine regulatory applicability for air permitting and compliance.
  • Prepare compliance plans and reports for clients.
  • Develop air permitting applications and supporting materials.
  • Perform technical and economic feasibility studies for pollution-control equipment.
  • Develop proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projects.
  • Participate in meetings and negotiations with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and mentor staff.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of draft deliverables.
  • Manage overall project execution and client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering or a related scientific degree.
  • 10 or more years of professional experience with state and federal air programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to fulfill commitments on schedule and within budget.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in building working relationships and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Intrinsic motivation with an emphasis on client service.
  • Willingness to travel and adjust schedule as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • 15 years of experience with federal air regulations such as PSD/NSR and CAA Title V.
  • Experience developing air permit applications and providing post-application support.
  • Experience evaluating BACT/RACT/LAER or similar economic evaluations.
  • Aptitude for developing client relationships and new business.
