About the position
The Environmental Engineer at CDM Smith will play a crucial role in addressing complex water resource challenges. This position involves designing water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to the firm's technical knowledge through documentation and publications. The engineer will also provide guidance to junior staff and participate in professional development activities to enhance the visibility of the firm's services.
Responsibilities
- Creates engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, and remediation sites under light supervision.
- Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with regulations and firm policies.
- Performs site reviews and updates design requirements as necessary.
- Conducts water quality analyses and modeling.
- Develops white papers and technical documentation for new designs and submits for publication.
- Attends conferences to promote the firm's products and services.
- Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and reviews their work.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) software.
- Solid knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
