About the position

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager at Molex is responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture within the organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with governmental environmental and health regulations, developing safety policies and programs, and managing various safety-related initiatives at the Lincoln campus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend safety policies, programs, and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compile, generate, and file all required environmental reports.
  • Assist in the completion of customer environmental compliance reports.
  • Oversee Worker's Compensation management and maintain OSHA record-keeping forms.
  • Develop employee and supervisory environmental, health, and safety training programs.
  • Maintain facility Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management system.
  • Review all incoming chemicals and materials for compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Review equipment received at the facility for EHS compliance and provide input to Engineers and machine builders for EHS-related items.
  • Provide monthly environmental health and safety statistics to management.
  • Actively support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs.
  • Understand, support, and contribute to current Six Sigma, ISO, and EH&S Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Review existing, new, and proposed governmental standards and advise management on regulations affecting manufacturing operations.
  • Assist in reviewing and facilitating problem-solving of EHS incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture through participation in company Safety Team meetings, activities, and inspections.
  • Act as a liaison to all team members to help with employee suggestions, issues, or concerns.
  • Assist with the management of Hazardous Waste Streams, including profiling waste characterizations, scheduling pick-ups, and shipping of hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • BA or BS degree in Industrial Health and Safety or related degree program, OR 7+ years management experience within the EHS field.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience within the EHS field.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and computer skills.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
  • Working knowledge of applicable legal regulations.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Management System (EHS & Quality).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering.
  • Advanced professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
  • Experience in completing environmental reports.
  • Ability to apply Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Knowledge and experience with Principle Based Management (PBM).
