About the position
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS) is responsible for supporting Legrand AV's Health, Safety, and Environmental programs to ensure a safe and incident-free workplace. This role involves leading the development and implementation of safety culture, training programs, and compliance with regulations, while analyzing data to identify trends and prevent incidents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS processes and systems.
- Provide comprehensive EHS support to the Operations team in regulatory compliance and program development.
- Communicate EHS vision and performance to stakeholders.
- Monitor safety and environmental regulations for effective application.
- Manage environmental operating permits and reporting responsibilities.
- Conduct site risk assessments and coordinate risk reduction strategies.
- Implement and maintain EHS training programs.
- Support regulatory inspections and audits.
- Create reports for compliance with environmental/safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Sciences or related field.
- Five years of professional EHS experience or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Proven knowledge of environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations (OSHA/EPA/NFPA).
- Excellent interpersonal, oral presentation, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office suite and SharePoint.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional Certifications (CSP, ASP, CHMM).
- Basic knowledge of sustainability (CSR).
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or 45001.
