About the position

The EHS Specialist at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) is responsible for supporting the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) aspects of the manufacturing operations in Boulder, CO. This role focuses on ensuring a safe work environment for employees and contractors, improving existing EHS programs, and may involve collaboration with North American field and remote employees as well as local EHS organizations in manufacturing countries. The position is primarily onsite and emphasizes a commitment to continual improvement in EHS practices.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and improve the EHS program and culture by updating and implementing site-specific EHS plans and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate EHS laws and regulations by reviewing and revising EHS program documents.
  • Update, deliver, and record training for employees and contractors, ensuring completion and documentation.
  • Assign and monitor EHS activities and corrective action plans, maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, addressing root causes as necessary.
  • Compile monthly and annual metrics for internal and external reporting to support the EHS Manager.
  • Participate in corporate and regulatory agency audits, providing follow-up actions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting as an EHS professional adhering to 29 CFR 1910
  • Intermediate-level use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification in safety (e.g., ASP, CSP, GSP, CSHM)
  • Further education and/or training in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Science
  • Experience implementing EHS programs and achieving measurable goals.
