About the position
The Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection within the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DNR. The coordinator will provide guidance to leadership, manage EHS programs, lead incident investigations, and ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance to leadership personnel regarding environmental, health, and safety (EHS) issues.
- Develop and administer policies and programs for compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Direct production management in implementing a multifaceted EHS program.
- Ensure collection and reporting of information to meet Rosenboom and governmental requirements.
- Provide technical support in developing departmental key metrics and objectives.
- Develop and facilitate EHS training programs to ensure compliance.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective action plans.
- Authorize shutdown of operations in imminent danger situations.
- Approve federal Hazardous Materials Identification product labeling requirements.
- Review plans for new operations to ensure EHS requirements are met.
Requirements
- Associates degree in a related field of study, preferred.
- Two years of related work experience, preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and accident reporting.
- Excellent communication, analytical problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in EHS-related fields.
- Experience in developing training programs for EHS compliance.
