About the position

The Environmental Health & Safety Level D internship at L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL, focuses on supporting the development and maintenance of an Environmental Health and Safety Management System. The role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, conducting audits, and managing environmental risks through various programs and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of an Environmental Health and Safety Management System.
• Develops and deploys programs for the prevention and control of environmental risks.
• Conducts site-wide environmental, health, and safety audits and analyzes results.
• Ensures all environmental, health, and safety incidents are promptly reported.
• Participates in the review and approval of operations/facilities projects for compliance with environmental rules.
• Leads site air permit compliance program and manages required records and reports.
• Manages site wastewater operations and ensures compliance with reporting requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects and maintain flexibility.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in preparing Tier II and TRI/Form R reports.
• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and organizational skills.

Benefits

• Internship compensation estimated between $55.4K - $70.1K per year.
