About the position

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EH&S) at Nexamp is responsible for overseeing the implementation and compliance of environmental health and safety programs across various construction projects. This role involves managing a team of EH&S specialists, conducting site inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations to minimize risks associated with construction activities. The EH&S Manager will also provide leadership and coaching to site supervisors and project managers, fostering a proactive safety culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a regionally based team of EH&S construction specialists.
  • Ensure regular, periodic site visits to assigned project construction sites.
  • Facilitate partnerships between specialists and construction supervisors.
  • Track specialists' time and expenses on a project basis.
  • Provide guidance and support for EH&S corrective action planning.
  • Ensure new contractors meet Nexamp EH&S standards.
  • Conduct job-specific risk assessments and health and safety plans (HASPs).
  • Encourage and track incident reporting to cultivate a proactive safety culture.
  • Conduct periodic construction job-site visits for compliance checks and coaching.
  • Serve as an occupational health and safety resource.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Safety and Occupational Health or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of full-time safety and occupational health experience in construction or renewable energy.
  • 1-2 years of management experience of direct reports or assigned sub-contractors.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
  • Knowledge of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices.
