About the position

The Environmental Health Software Program Project Implementation and Support Manager (PPM IV) is a critical role within the Environmental Health Services Division of Public Health - Seattle & King County. This position is responsible for managing the implementation of a new permitting and licensing software system, overseeing the Continuous Improvement team, and ensuring effective collaboration with King County Information Technology (KCIT) and external vendors. The role focuses on project management, planning, design, implementation, and supervision of staff, with the goal of enhancing operational efficiency and public health outcomes in King County.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the Continuous Improvement Team, including various specialists.
  • Lead and manage the transition and implementation of the new Environmental Health permitting and licensing software.
  • Develop and execute strategies for smooth adoption of the new software across the division.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in Environmental Health operations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the software meets user needs.
  • Oversee the development and provision of training support and resources.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to the software transition.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience leading software implementation projects.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience, including knowledge of hiring and performance management principles.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • 2-3 years of communication and partner management skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • 2 years of proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • 2 years of experience working with vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years of experience in project management, preferably in environmental health or public sector.
  • 2-3 years of experience leading software implementation projects in a government setting.
  • Knowledge of environmental health processes and regulations.
  • 2 years of experience with change management.
  • 2 years of experience with vendor management in a government setting.
  • Knowledge of GIS, data analysis, and reporting systems.
